We are seeking a friendly and responsible Front Desk Staff member to join our team and help create and sustain this community.

Job Description:

As a Front Desk Staff member, you will be the first point of contact for guests and members of Granite Arch. Your primary responsibility will be to ensure that every individual who walks through our doors feels welcomed, informed, and supported throughout their visit. You will play a crucial role in creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere that encourages community engagement and fosters a love for climbing. Equally important, you will be instrumental in managing risk within the climbing environment.

Responsibilities:

  • Greet guests and members with warmth and enthusiasm, providing exceptional customer service at all times.

  • Process sales, waivers, and payments accurately and efficiently.

  • Answer phone calls and inquiries, providing information about our services, pricing, and upcoming events.

  • Assist with equipment rentals, including harnesses, shoes, and other climbing gear, ensuring proper fitting and maintenance.

  • Monitor gym capacity and enforce risk management protocols to ensure a controlled and enjoyable experience for all participants.

  • Keep the front desk area clean, organized, and stocked with necessary supplies.

  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for climbers, offering guidance on climbing techniques, gym etiquette, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Support special events and promotions hosted by the gym, including competitions, workshops, and community outreach initiatives.

  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a positive and supportive team environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Previous customer service experience.

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to interact effectively with individuals from diverse backgrounds.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment.

  • Basic computer proficiency, including experience with point-of-sale systems and Microsoft Office applications.

  • Passion for climbing and a willingness to learn and share knowledge with others.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.

  • Weekday availability preferred.

  • Rock Climbing experience preferred.

Coach

We are seeking a passionate, dependable, and knowledgeable Coach to support our youth programs. This part-time role focuses on fostering a positive training environment that promotes skill development, confidence, teamwork, and a love for the sport.

Responsibilities:

  • Coach practices, camps, and other youth-related offerings with the provided curriculum from the Programs Manager.

  • Maintain a safe, inclusive, and supportive practice environment aligned with our team’s values.

  • Communicate effectively with the Head Coach, parents, and athletes about goals, expectations, and performance.

  • Uphold and model positive sportsmanship and leadership at all times.

  • Coach youth athletes in structured team practices focused on technique, strength, strategy, and mental preparation.

  • Act as a knowledgeable resource for climbers, offering guidance on climbing techniques, gym etiquette, and risk mitigation strategies.

  • Support special events and promotions hosted by the gym, including competitions, workshops, and community outreach initiatives.

  • Collaborate with other staff members to maintain a positive and supportive team environment.

 

Qualifications:

  • Prior climbing experience (indoor or outdoor) and a strong grasp of movement, training, and safety.

  • Previous coaching or youth mentorship experience preferred.

  • Familiarity with USA Climbing rules and competition formats (or willingness to learn).

  • CPR/First Aid certified (or ability to obtain upon hiring).

  • SafeSport certified (or ability to obtain upon hiring).

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills.

  • Passion for climbing and a willingness to learn and share knowledge with others.

  • At least 18 years of age.

  • Availability to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as needed.
